N A C A A   C O N F E R E N C E 

The National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators represents over 160 consumer agencies at all levels of government in the United States and several other countries. NACAA members are front-line advocates who work directly with consumers to solve problems, advance legislation, and support consumer outreach and education. NACAA is proud to work hand-in-hand with corporate colleagues.

The organization's annual meeting is known for its networking, training and education. The sessions and panels provide valuable information and strategies on hot button consumer issues, scams and trends.

The NACAA's 33rd annual conference was held in Dallas, June 1 - 4, 2008 at the Adolphus Hotel. Carlos Morales, the Consumer Investigator Supervisor, for the Orange County Consumer Fraud Unit, contacted Alex Guthrie to speak at the Conference. Alex representing L. A. Guthrie General Contractor, Inc., spoke at the Conference in regard to the Homeowner and Builder/Contractor relationship during the build/remodel process, different types of Contracts and how to recognize a legitimate Contractor with good business practices. Also speaking at the conference were, Paul Martinez, Asst. Director for the City of Dallas' Building Inspection Department, describing the issues that consumers will encounter when they go through the inspection process. The Texas Residential Construction Commission was represented by Building Programs Manager, Dora Rivera, who gave an overview of their regulatory and enforcement efforts.
